Travel Physical Therapist - $2,184 per week

Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing‑Therapy is seeking a travel Physical Therapist for a 13‑week assignment in Manchester, Connecticut. Start Date: 05/18/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. 40 hours per week on 8‑hour shifts. Employment type: Travel PT. Compensation is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40 hours per week, subject to confirmation, with a tax‑free stipend. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve patient mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration. Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, proper body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management techniques. Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices. Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continued patient progress. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy. Previous Physical Therapy experience (new graduates welcome). Other certifications or licenses as required for the position. Mandatory Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication. Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication in English. Proficiency in PC skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment weighing 50‑100 lbs; push, pull, and bend as needed. Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism. Technical/Motor Skills Fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement while assisting with procedures or using department equipment. Mental Requirements Cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally or independently, and handle irregular activity schedules. Maintain continuous concentration to detail.
