Overview: Chief Technology Officer Chicago - Onsite About The Role: We are looking for an experienced and very hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with expertise in modern C++ on Linux, high-frequency trading, low-latency systems, and financial services, preferably within the futures markets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and leading technology teams, driving innovation, and delivering high-performance trading solutions.. What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage a team of 10 to 15 talented engineers and developers.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of high-frequency, low-latency trading systems.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of trading platforms and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with others to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure the firm remains competitive and compliant.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external technology partners and vendors.
- Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar senior technology leadership role within the financial services industry, preferably in the futures markets. Previous experience working in a proprietary trading firm is advantageous.
- Strong expertise in modern C++ development on Linux.
- Extensive experience in high-frequency trading and low-latency systems.
- Experience with other programming languages and technologies relevant to high-frequency trading.
- Deep understanding of the futures markets and financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a small, high-performing technology team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
