Details Work in the Children's Jimmy Everest Center Hem/Onc unit of a hospital Care for pediatric patients with hematology/oncology diagnoses Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week 40 hours per week scheduled Requirements Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) Current BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Current APHON Chemotherapy certification Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services Additional Information Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of pediatric oncology patients Administer medications and chemotherapy as prescribed Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products Document patient responses to nursing interventions and communicate changes to physician orders Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures Educate patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates cannot be pushed once booked Returning travelers may extend a contract only once for a maximum of 26 weeks, requiring a 6-month separation before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-739948.
