Software Test Engineer

Our client is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Software Test Engineer to join our team onsite at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center (DEVCOM AvMC) at Redstone Arsenal. In this role, you will support the evaluation and verification of critical defense software systems. You will collaborate with senior engineers to execute test plans, identify software defects, and ensure that system performance aligns with rigid military specifications.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Software Tester ResponsibilitiesPlan, develop, and execute test cases for web applications, APIs, and supporting database componentsPerform functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing following Agile software development principlesDocument test results, track defects, and verify resolution through collaboration with developersParticipate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous process improvementValidate integration with Microsoft SQL databases and verify data integrity across systemsSupport test automation initiatives where applicableRequired Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a recognized engineering discipline or Computer Science; 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree1-3 years of relevant experienceClearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a SECRET Security ClearanceRequired Skills:Detail-oriented and highly organizedAbility to think critically and logicallyExcellent written and verbal communicationThrives in fast-paced, collaborative environmentsPreferred Skills:Experience testing web applications, APIs, and database-driven systems.Familiarity with Agile software development processes. xhyhwjd Understanding of software testing methodologies and defect tracking processes.Experience with test management or defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, or similarWorking knowledge of Microsoft SQL (ability to query databases for validation)Desire to continuously improve testing practices and technical skill sets
