Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift - 3x12.0 hours.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the organization's core values, emphasizing safety for both patients and employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and create individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide relevant patient information during Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Engage in direct patient care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Facilitate communication regarding changes in patient status to support continuum of care.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in team-building activities to promote a positive work environment.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation.
• Ensure cost-effective care while promoting quality patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
• ICU and critical care experience required.
