ProSidian Seeks a Cultural Resources Specialist & Field Technician Key Personnel | Field Engineer Labor Category - STD Level Non-Exempt Professional aligned under services related to NAICS: 541620 located Prince William County, Virginia supporting The National Park Service oversees the preservation of national parks and historic sites.

Seeking Cultural Resources Specialist & Field Technician candidates with relevant Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Sector Clients such as NPS. This as a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Position and ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position.

Provide services and support as a Archeological Study (Cultural Resources Specialist/Field Technician) in the Agriculture, Forestry, Fishing, And Hunting Industry Sector focusing on Environmental Services Solutions for clients such as National Park Service (NPS) | Department of the Interior Located In Prince William County, Virginia and across the Region.

Conduct field surveys and excavations to identify and document cultural resources and archaeological sites.

Assist in recording and documenting fieldwork, including taking notes, photographs, and preparing preliminary analyses of findings.

Follow guidelines for fieldwork and site access as outlined in the project schedule and communicate with the park POC for site visits.

Prepare and contribute to the End of Fieldwork Summary and support the creation of the Phase I Archaeological Survey Report.

Ensure all artifacts and field notes are cataloged and prepared to meet NPS curatorial standards.

Support the delivery of final artifact catalog and documentation within 300 days of start.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications For Cultural Resources Specialist & Field Technician Candidates:

• Hands-on experience in field archaeology, including site survey, excavation, and documentation.
• Familiarity with archaeological field methods and the ability to conduct thorough and accurate fieldwork.
• Experience in cataloging artifacts and maintaining detailed field notes.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to cultural resources and archaeological sites.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail in documenting and analyzing cultural resources.

Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field.

At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience in archaeological fieldwork, including site survey, excavation, and documentation.

Experience in artifact cataloging and maintaining field notes.

Familiarity with federal and state regulations related to cultural resources and archaeological sites.

Certification or coursework in archaeological field methods is preferred.

Fieldwork Techniques: Proficiency in archaeological survey, excavation, and documentation methods.

Artifact Handling: Skills in cataloging and preserving artifacts according to established standards.

Data Collection: Ability to accurately record field data and maintain detailed field notes.

Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with cultural resource management regulations and best practices.

Technical Skills: Ability to use field equipment and technology effectively.

Team Collaboration: Strong teamwork and communication skills for coordinating with other project members and stakeholders.
