About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 PM - 07:00 AM Hours per Shift: 13.5 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. The unit is a cardiac telemetry unit caring for all cardiac needs including post-operative care. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. Supported by Patient Care Technicians and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs is available. This is a Level I trauma center serving a diverse population. Nurses work together in teams. Travelers may be required to work weekends and holidays if needed.
