The Job
Tortello is looking for hybrid Garde Manger, Prep Cook and Pastry Cook   at our awarded Italian neighborhood restaurant. This role is 30-35 hours per week roughly Wednesday through Sunday 9-4pm. It is a hybrid position that supports the line during lunch at the garde manger position while contributing to prep as well. The ideal candidate will also have some pastry experience to support our small but excellent authentic Italian pastry program on the weekends. Positive attitude, ability to flex between roles, and appreciation for quality ingredients and craftsmanship required.

As Garde Manger, you will :

• Prep and work the salad and dessert station during lunch hours 
• Prepare pizza fritta dough
• Produce small weekend pastry program
• Produce daily pars efficiently
• Perform basic math and measuring skills
• Maintain a clean and sanitary food production area according to Department of Health standards
• Perform other work related duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years of line/prep, pastry experience preferred as well
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 10 hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
