Salary range: $38.50 - $53.90 (Hourly Rate). Placement depends on experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement for union positions. Matching 401(k) Excellent medical, dental and vision coverage Life insurance Annual employee salary increase and incentive bonus Paid time off and holiday pay Description Respiratory Care Practitioner I – part‑time, 48 hours per pay period, day shift (6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) with every third weekend and rotating holidays. A clinically competent, licensed professional who administers respiratory care to acutely ill patients through assessment, planning/evaluation, intervention, and treatment. Interacts effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team while providing care within the scope of training. Responsibilities Competent in all adult med‑surg units in all respiratory therapies and modalities. Understand and implement adult respiratory protocols, policies, and guidelines ordered on med‑surg units. Deliver and assess response to ordered therapy; adjust frequencies as appropriate. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to other members of the healthcare team. Educate patients and/or families and provide information about respiratory disease management, community support groups, and other resources. Competent in all adult care areas including med/surg units, emergency department, critical care units, and other units as per hospital expectations. Respond to clinical emergency management situations. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds; collaborate with healthcare team. Evaluate and utilize respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices. Precept students. Serve as a positive role model for team members by promoting teamwork and cooperation; consistently adhere to NM Code of Professionalism. Qualifications Required Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Active or pending Illinois Respiratory Care License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Adult Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
