Electromechanical Technician - Food Manufacturing in Colton

Job Summary HAWA Corp. is seeking a hands‑on Electromechanical Technician to support and maintain food processing and packaging equipment in a fast‑paced food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation systems to minimize downtime and keep production running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate must be fluent in English and able to communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, vendors, and contractors. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including slicers, conveyors, packaging machines, ovens, metal detectors, compressors, and labeling systems. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-related issues. Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and mechanical drawings. Install and replace motors, VFDs, sensors, relays, switches, contactors, bearings, chains, belts, and other machine components. Support production during equipment breakdowns and respond quickly to minimize downtime. Ensure all repairs comply with Food Safety, GMP, OSHA, and company safety standards. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts usage. Work with outside technicians and equipment manufacturers when needed. Assist with equipment upgrades, continuous improvement projects, and new machine installations. Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas following food manufacturing sanitation requirements. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of electromechanical maintenance experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or industrial production environment. Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems. Experience working with: 120V, 240V, and 480V systems Motors and motor controls PLC troubleshooting Pneumatic systems VFDs and sensors Conveyor and packaging systems Ability to use multimeters, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Fluent in English (spoken and written) is required. Spanish is a plus. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot, cold, and refrigerated production areas. Experience Food manufacturing or meat processing experience strongly preferred. Experience with ovens, vacuum packaging, and slicers is a plus. Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety practices. Schedule & Work Environment Full‑time position. Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on production needs. Fast‑paced manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and food production equipment.
