Electric Transmission and Distribution Outage Coordinator - Valparaiso, IN Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric Transmission and Distribution Outage Coordinator to support Electric Transmission and Distribution Line projects in the Valparaiso, IN area. Responsibilities Electrical Scope Design: Review detailed electrical designs and specifications, ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations, collaborate with project managers and engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems. Constructability Review: Conduct thorough constructability reviews of electrical, mechanical & civil designs, collaborate with construction teams, recommend design modifications to enhance constructability. Labor Estimating: Prepare accurate labor estimates, analyze historical data, collaborate with project managers and procurement teams, develop level 2 schedules with WBS. Documentation and Reporting: Document findings, prepare comprehensive reports, maintain records of print reviews, develop project risk registers. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between design, construction and project management teams, participate in project meetings, present findings. Project Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, assist in preparation of project schedules, budgets, and progress reports, provide technical support. Quality Assurance: Ensure all electrical work meets quality standards, conduct site inspections, provide technical expertise to all levels of management, mentor less experienced team members. Minimum Requirements Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Valparaiso, IN. Skilled in engineering and technical theories, basic research practices, evaluating alternatives, recommending solutions. Skilled in dealing with individuals from diverse backgrounds, strong written and oral communication skills. Skilled in project management principles, experience in the electric utility industry. Advanced understanding of system reliability and capacity strategies, ability to plan and organize complex projects on schedule. Ability to address challenging requests with originality, handle concurrent complex projects, work independently or as a member of a team. Pass post‑offer drug and alcohol test in compliance with federal regulations and random testing as a condition of continued employment. Preferred Qualifications 25+ years of electric utility experience. Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a four‑year ABET‑accredited college or university.
