About This Role The Specialty Unit Charge RN in Labor and Delivery at Kaiser Permanente functions as a lead of the healthcare team, coordinating departmental operations to ensure quality patient care in a safe, healing environment. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to take on leadership responsibilities while supporting staff and enhancing patient care. Highlights Pay: $64 - $83/hour Location: Baldwin Park, CA Facility: Baldwin Park Hospital Department/Unit: Labor & Delivery Schedule: Part-time, Night shift What You'll Do Direct, review, assign, and organize the work of at least three employees, including one Registered Nurse. Provide professional leadership and direction to maintain efficient delivery of effective patient care. Coordinate departmental operations and delegate tasks appropriately. Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and other team members. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice. Participate in activities related to patient flow, including admission and discharge processes. Conduct audits to ensure documentation reflects thorough assessments and care plans. Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and motivate staff in clinical initiatives. Adjust staffing needs to assure quality patient care and staff safety. Ensure timely management of patients and coordinate smooth transitions across the care continuum. Requirements Education: Associate's Degree (ADN) required Experience: 1-year recent full-time equivalent experience in Labor and Delivery or successful completion of a KP L&D course within the prior 12 months Licenses & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse License in California BLS certification from American Heart Association ACLS certification NRP certification Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certificate within 12 months of hire About Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
