About This Role The Program Manager – Mission Solutions will serve as the senior leader responsible for driving one or more multi‑million‑dollar advanced prototype programs from concept through delivery. This role sits at the critical intersection of technology transition, program execution, and strategic leadership. You will guide promising technologies emerging from our applied research portfolio into fully realized prototype systems, with the ultimate objective of fielding sailor‑ready capabilities at the speed of relevance. In this position, you will oversee complex, fast‑moving programs that integrate cutting‑edge autonomy, robotics, sensing, and mission‑system technologies. You will lead cross‑functional engineering teams, coordinate with government stakeholders, and ensure that technical progress, schedule, and budget remain tightly aligned. The role also includes a meaningful business development component including identifying new opportunities, shaping future program concepts, and helping expand our mission‑solutions portfolio. This is a high‑visibility leadership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, communicates with clarity, and can translate visionary ideas into executable plans. You will be empowered to shape program strategy, influence technology direction, and deliver capabilities that make a measurable impact on national security. Primary Responsibilities Lead overall program management for one or more multi-million-dollar advanced prototype programs, ensuring alignment of technical execution, schedule, budget, and customer expectations. Work within a team of multidisciplinary engineers and specialists throughout the life of advanced prototype systems - including Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and other unmanned maritime platforms - through integration, test, verification, and demonstration efforts. Drive the transition of emerging technologies from applied research into integrated prototype systems, with a focus on rapid fieldability and mission relevance. Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering clarity, accountability, and high-performance execution across all phases of development. Technical Ownership: Drive technical outcomes through a meticulous understanding of system performance, manage incident response and after-action reviews, use metrics to derive insights into areas for improvement, quantify the improvements made through investment in those areas, and maintain a clear understanding of the state of the system that can be communicated to the customer. Customer Engagement: Interface with DoD customers and represent the technical aspects of Integer’s mission‑solutions portfolio. Serve as the “voice of the customer” for follow‑on business capture efforts and activities. Test Event Execution: Support the engineering team in integration, testing, and debug in a high‑paced environment. Lead formal testing efforts by generating test plans, identifying resources needed, and supporting mobilization logistics. Lead offshore AUV and unmanned maritime test events when required (typically multi‑day test events with occasional multi‑week deployments). Project Planning: Develop project scope and manage changes through the life of the project. Identify, track, and manage project risks—including technical, schedule, integration, and transition risks—and implement effective mitigation strategies. Generate and maintain project schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans. Contract Management: Provide contract management support including statements of work, change orders, financial management, terms and conditions, data rights assertions, etc. Manage deliverables, including routine status updates and final delivery to the customer. Autonomous Execution: Autonomously execute on broad and/or ambiguous requirements from external clients. Demonstrate high ownership on all pieces of work. Become a trusted partner to Integer’s engineers and program staff. Coordinate cross‑program integration efforts to ensure technologies, architectures, and lessons learned are leveraged across the portfolio. Mentor junior program staff and contribute to the development of organizational best practices in program management and technology transition. Travel: Support customer meetings and testing as required. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied science, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑million‑dollar R&D or prototype programs within defense, national security, or advanced technology sectors. Proven ability to guide multidisciplinary engineering teams and drive programs from early concept through prototype delivery and transition. Strong understanding of technology‑transition pathways, rapid prototyping, and system‑integration challenges for mission‑critical systems. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with government sponsors, technical teams, and executive leadership. Experience with program planning tools, structured execution methodologies, and cross‑functional coordination. Demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing, and managing program risks -including technical, schedule, integration, and transition risks - and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Experience identifying and shaping new business opportunities, including capture strategy and proposal development. Ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and make informed decisions under pressure. U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War (DoW) Secret Clearance (eligibility for Top Secret is a plus). Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and collaboration platforms (SharePoint, Confluence, JIRA). Additional Desired Qualifications Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or PhD) in engineering, applied science, management, or a related technical field. Prior experience delivering prototype or operational systems for the U.S. Navy, DoD, or other national‑security customers. Familiarity with autonomy, robotics, sensing, or mission‑system technologies relevant to uncrewed or distributed maritime systems. Experience leading programs that transition technologies from research environments into fieldable systems or operational test events. Demonstrated success managing subcontractors, external partners, or multi‑institution research teams. Working knowledge of systems engineering processes, digital engineering, or model‑based systems engineering (MBSE). Experience with earned value management (EVM), Agile program structures, or other formal program‑execution frameworks. Strong understanding of acquisition pathways, rapid prototyping authorities, or other transition mechanisms within the DoD ecosystem. Prior involvement in business development, customer engagement, or shaping new program concepts. Existing security clearance at the Secret or TS/SCI level. #J-18808-Ljbffr
