Election Site Traffic Manager

Manages vehicle flow and directs vehicles to proper locations at County-designated election sites, warehouses, loading zones, ballot drop-off areas, or staging areas while supporting safety and orderly operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct vehicles, pedestrians, deliveries, staff, and authorized visitors to designated lanes, parking areas, loading zones, or drop-off points.
• Support safe and efficient vehicle flow during setup, operations, material returns, and high-volume periods.
• Communicate site rules, directions, and safety reminders clearly and professionally within the scope of training.
• Monitor for congestion, blocked routes, unsafe conditions, unauthorized access, or emergency issues and escalate promptly.
• Coordinate with site supervisors, transport officers, warehouse teams, security staff, and law enforcement if assigned by the County.
• Use cones, signs, radios, vests, or other traffic-control supplies as directed and return supplies at the end of shift.
• Maintain professional, nonpartisan, and safety-focused conduct during public-facing interactions.

Minimum Qualifications and Compliance Requirements

• Background check and drug screening required before assignment.
• Must complete site safety, traffic-flow, radio, and escalation training before assignment if required.
• Prior traffic control, event operations, parking, security, warehouse, or public-facing experience preferred.

Schedule and Working Conditions

• May require standing or walking outdoors for extended periods in heat, cold, wind, darkness, or other weather conditions.
• May require wearing safety equipment and working near moving vehicles.
• Must be available to work through the election cycle with limited requested days off.

Must be available for schedule needs that may include 8-10 hour shifts, weekends, flexible start and end times, overtime, and extended hours on specific event days, especially Election Day. Must remain reliable, punctual, and responsive to assignment changes during a fast-paced, deadline-driven election environment. Must follow County security rules, workplace policies, chain-of-custody expectations, confidentiality requirements, dress code, and professional conduct standards.

Performance Expectations

• Completes assigned work accurately, on time, and in accordance with training and County procedures.
• Maintains nonpartisan conduct, voter confidentiality, ballot security, and respectful service at all times.
• Escalates exceptions, voter issues, equipment concerns, safety concerns, and unclear instructions promptly to the designated supervisor or lead.
• Accurately documents work performed, materials handled, calls received, records updated, and/or batch activity as applicable to the assignment.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $17.00 Per Hour
