Payments Counsel Attorney

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the full-time remote Payments Counsel Attorney will provide expert legal guidance on fintech payments and consumer protection, ensuring compliance while shaping innovative product development. Key responsibilities Provide expert legal advice on fintech payments and consumer protection activities Collaborate with product, engineering, compliance, and marketing teams to integrate legal considerations into the product lifecycle Draft and review legal documents related to payments services and data use while staying updated on relevant laws and regulations Required qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law 6-8+ years of legal experience in payments-focused fintech or similar organizations Strong familiarity with Nacha rules, BSA/AML regulations, Reg E, and consumer protection laws Understanding of data protection and privacy laws, including GLBA Experience negotiating and managing risks of complex commercial agreements with banks and payment service providers
