Senior System EngineerWe are seeking an experienced Azure and VMware Administrator to support, manage, and evolve a hybrid infrastructure environment spanning on-premises data centers and Microsoft Azure cloud services. The role is responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing virtualization and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, security, performance, and scalability of mission-critical enterprise systems.On the VMware side, the administrator will manage vSphere environments, ESXi hosts, vCenter, storage, and networking, including VM provisioning, performance tuning, patching, capacity planning, and disaster recovery solutions such as replication and failover. On the Azure side, the administrator will deploy and support Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, identity (Azure AD), and backup/recovery services, while managing resource governance, cost optimization, security compliance, and hybrid or cloud-native architectures. The role will also focus on maintaining system uptime, implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, managing identity, access, and security controls, supporting application hosting such as Epic and other enterprise systems, and driving automation and infrastructure-as-code practices. The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between traditional infrastructure and modern cloud services, helping the organization transition to scalable hybrid or cloud-based environments while aligning infrastructure operations with business, security, and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support VMware environments including ESXi hosts, vCenter, clusters, and virtual machinesDeploy, configure, and manage Azure resources including VMs, storage accounts, virtual networks, and backup servicesMaintain hybrid connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and Azure (VPN, ExpressRoute)Provision and manage virtual machines across VMware and Azure platformsPerform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle managementMonitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively address issuesDesign, implement, and support disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Azure Site Recovery, VMware replication)Participate in DR testing and ensure compliance with recovery objectives (RTO/RPO)Support business continuity planning for critical systemsImplement and maintain role-based access control (RBAC) and identity solutions using Azure ADEnsure systems meet organizational security standards and regulatory requirementsSupport vulnerability remediation and security auditsDevelop and maintain automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or infrastructure-as-code toolsOptimize resource utilization and manage cloud cost controlsImprove operational efficiency through standardization and automationSupport enterprise applications hosted on VMware and Azure environmentsCollaborate with application, network, and security teams to ensure system stabilityProvide support for performance troubleshooting and incident resolutionQualifications3–5+ years of experience managing VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)2–3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure servicesExperience with Windows Server administration and enterprise systems supportStrong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)Preferred QualificationsExperience with hybrid cloud environments and migrationsKnowledge of Azure Site Recovery and backup solutionsFamiliarity with automation tools (PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform)Experience supporting healthcare or other regulated environmentsMicrosoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104) and/or VMware certifications (VCP)Key CompetenciesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsFocus on reliability, security, and continuous improvementWork EnvironmentHybrid infrastructure supporting both on-premises data centers and cloud platformsParticipation in on-call rotation for critical system support
