Quality Inspector 2 - 3rd Shift

Job Overview Position: Quality Inspector – Ship Loose Kits (Collins Aerospace, part of RTX)Location: San Marcos, TXEmployment Type: Onsite, 3rd Shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00p.m.–7:30a.m.)The role focuses on inspecting ship loose kits, kitting parts, and carrying out detailed product inspections on in‑process and finished goods, including First Article Inspections. The inspector documents characteristics accurately, initiates quality notifications for non‑conforming products, and applies quality assurance procedures to hardware and document reviews. The position requires safe handling of equipment and calibration of measuring instruments. Responsibilities Inspect ship loose kits and perform kitting of parts. Conduct detailed inspections on in‑process and finished goods, including First Article Inspections. Document product characteristics with technical precision. Initiate quality notifications for any non‑conforming products. Apply quality assurance procedures and requirements to inspection of hardware and to document reviews. Identify potential quality issues early and help prevent recurrence. Communicate effectively with Collins Aerospace personnel to resolve quality issues. Monitor and utilize calibrated measuring instruments. Safely perform other duties as assigned. Work varying shifts or overtime as required. Qualifications Mandatory High School diploma, GED, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline. Minimum 1 year of relevant manufacturing or product inspection experience. Experience performing measurements with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages). Proficiency with computer systems, including data entry and retrieval for inspections and configuration. Preferred Experience with SAP or similar operating software. Minimum 2 years in an aerospace or similar inspection role. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. What We Offer Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
