Production Operator

Johns Manville has been an international manufacturer in the building products field for over 160 years. The Plattsburgh facility specializes in roofing products, focused on modified bituminous membranes. The company is focused on sustainability, innovation, and productivity.

You will perform tasks such as:

• Operating a forklift once certified (certification is conducted once hired);
• Performing quality tests according to visual acceptance standards;
• Assisting in changeovers of the machine from one product line to another;
• Performing routine preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, safety inspections, lubricating, and testing;
• Adjusting machine settings to ensure top quality product is being produced

All employees are expected to be team players and help others as needed. Additionally, operators should have problem-solving capabilities and always be looking for ways to improve our processes and programs.

Salary: $24.47/hr. with $3 differential from 5pm-5am

Hours: Current base schedule 5pm -5am Monday Thursday. Monday Friday availability is needed as the hours and shift schedules are subject to change according to business demand.

Requirements:

• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• The ability to manually lift at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions.
• The ability to execute both fine and gross motor hand movements.
• The ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment.
• The ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold).
