Employee Role:  

The role of the Home Care Supervising RN is to provide professional nursing services in compliance with State and Federal regulations, individual State Nursing Practice Acts, and Company policies, procedures, and philosophy. The Regional Supervising RN is responsible for developing and supervising their clients’ care as well as the case management of their overall needs according to a physician’s plan of treatment orders. The Supervising RN is a leadership role and is responsible for the supervision, training, and education of all multi-disciplinary team members including RNs, LPNs, HHAs, CNAs, and all field paraprofessional employed by the agency in the provision of an effective and appropriate utilization of home care services. In addition, as a member of leadership, the Regional Supervising RN will identify and target new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with exiting and new client/referral sources, and expand the company’s mission and growth, contributing the financial health and stability of the company.

Reporting To:

Regional Director or General Manager for day-to-day operational oversight; Vice President of Clinical & Compliance for clinical compliance matters.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Supervise all Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Home Health Aides (HHAs), and field paraprofessionals employed by or contracted with the agency.
• Ensure all staff providing patient care maintain professional standards consistent with community and home health nursing practices.
• Perform and oversee patient observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, care planning, health education, health maintenance, and illness prevention activities.
• Complete client assessments, develop individualized care plans, and maintain accurate system updates and documentation.
• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of patient care services to ensure quality outcomes and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate records related to case assignments, case management activities, and patient services.
• Ensure appropriate case management practices are followed in accordance with contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
• Document all communications with clients, families, contractors, referral sources, and employees in a timely manner to support continuity of care and interdepartmental collaboration.
• Conduct supervisory visits for field staff at 30-, 60-, and 90-day intervals following hire, or as required by contractual and regulatory standards.
• Orient, train, and supervise field employees on client-specific care plans, providing coaching, mentoring, and remedial training as needed.
• Evaluate employee compliance with and understanding of client care plans on a quarterly basis, or more frequently based on client needs, changes in condition, or level of care.
• Conduct orientation, in-service education, and training programs in accordance with Home Nursing Agency and Home Staffing Agency regulatory requirements.
• Prepare, maintain, and present cases for review by the Clinical Record Review Committee.
• Manage client intake assessments from all referral sources while actively pursuing new referral opportunities to support branch growth objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with new and existing referral sources.
• Create and implement marketing strategies to achieve annual revenue, profitability, and growth targets across all service areas.
• Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify prospective referral sources and target markets.
• Participate in collaborative meetings to provide Branch Managers with updates on program initiatives, operational activities, and business development opportunities.
• Serve as a professional representative of the organization within the community and respond to inquiries regarding services and programs.
• Build and strengthen the company's community presence by identifying, developing, and fostering strategic partnerships and beneficial relationships.
• Attend, participate in, and present at networking and community events to increase brand awareness and expand the referral pipeline.
• Maintain compliance with agency procedures, clinical standards, and patient care policy manuals.
• Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and performance improvement activities as assigned.
• Promote client and contract satisfaction through exceptional customer service, effective communication, and accurate documentation.
• Support general office operations, including participation in on-call responsibilities, to ensure continuous business operations and quality service delivery.
• Maintain compliance with all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

ADA Requirements:

• Candidates will have the physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting a minimum of 10 pounds, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling, and pushing.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an NLN-accredited nursing program with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Licensure: Must hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state of practice and maintain all state and federal licensure and employment compliance requirements.

Travel: Travel is required for business purposes. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which they work and maintain a satisfactory driving record.

Work Experience: Minimum of one year of home health experience required. An additional year of nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting, is required to conduct applicable training programs.

Additional Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the geographic and cultural characteristics of the branch service area preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of service offerings, target client populations, and referral sources.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with patients, families, healthcare providers, community partners, clients, and referral sources.
• Proficiency in the use of computerized systems and related technology.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
