Role Overview The Escrow Officer prepares all documents associated with escrow processing and closing, conveyance of title, recording of documents, clearing of title requirements, and issuance of title insurance. The role also involves marketing and customer service activities to develop and maintain business. Responsibilities Communicate and coordinate daily responsibilities with the Branch or Escrow Manager. Obtain demands/releases to clear title. Draft instructions and supporting documents for signing. Audit and close file when all funds and documents are received. Disburse funds. Write escrow instructions consistent with party requirements and obtain approval. Estimate the amount needed to close escrow and collect buyers’ and sellers’ deposits. Review commitment and/or preliminary title report to verify vesting and legal description. Reconcile discrepancies between instructions and title report with title officer and/or principals. Order beneficiary statements or demands, fire insurance, loan interest, rents and other prorated items. Direct and may participate in the preparation of settlement sheets. Train, supervise, guide and assign work to other associates in office. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information and escrow transactions. Understand and comply with escrow accounting procedures. Understand and comply with Good Funds Law. Solicit business in person, development functions or activities or virtually. Prepare Account Servicing Setups, if applicable. Know Rate Manual and quote accurate fees. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. At least 3 years of Escrow Officer experience. Supervisory experience preferred. Notary license required. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. Compensation & Benefits Base hourly compensation ranges from $26.88 to $42, depending on qualifications, location, and business factors. The position may be eligible for bonuses and commissions.
