Project Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing and well-established organization to identify a Project Accountant to join its expanding accounting team. Due to continued business growth and increased project activity, our client is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support project operations and financial reporting initiatives.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally, building relationships with project teams, and serving as a trusted financial resource in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The position is based in Pleasanton and is primarily onsite.

What You'll Do

• Act as a financial partner to project teams, helping support operational and accounting objectives throughout the project lifecycle

• Review and monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance to ensure accuracy and alignment with business goals

• Collaborate with project managers and department leaders to provide insight into project profitability and financial outcomes

• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities related to active projects

• Support client billing, revenue tracking, contract compliance, and project-related accounting functions

• Generate financial reports and project analyses for leadership and operational stakeholders

• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies through detailed review and reconciliation efforts

• Participate in month-end close processes, ensuring project transactions are properly accounted for

• Utilize Deltek Costpoint and reporting tools to gather, analyze, and present financial data

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, workflow processes, and internal controls

• Successfully balance multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

• Maintain strong working relationships across accounting, operations, and project management teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required

• 3+ years of Project Accounting and/or Job Cost Accounting experience

• Strong communication and business partnering skills

• Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload and meet deadlines

• Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of working independently

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with Deltek highly preferred

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience at $83 to $94K , qualifications, and overall skill set. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings options, paid time off, paid holidays, and additional employee benefit programs.

Pay Details: $83,000.00 to $94,000.00 per year
