What You'll Do

1. Join a small team of high-performing engineers in an early-stage company and help us grow a product that helps people improve.
2. Take part in a short daily(ish) standup, build features, test them with users, and refine them.
3. Collaborate with your teammates to design and develop our platforms and services that run everything from onboarding to distribution to audio and video to fitness data analysis (we're currently using Typescript, Nest, React, Heroku, Python, RabbitMQ, Serverless, AWS, and best-in-class SaaS tools).
4. Engage in requirements gathering, technical specification, and the design and development of complex services across mobile and web platforms.
5. Participate in the active development of an evolving consumer-oriented product that will grow and change rapidly in the coming months and years.
6. Be part of and contribute to a team of passionate engineers focused on building scalable and delightful products.
7. Work on API infrastructure, data management, web development, payments, and more.
8. Balance the need to ship quickly with the need to maintain a robust product.

Who You Are, Or Have Been

1. You are a builder. You thrive on creation and problem-solving.
2. You have at least 8+ years of software development experience across multiple platforms and languages.
3. You are ready to dig in and build awesome products.
4. You are an expert in TypeScript/Javascript with experience building and tuning web applications. Bonus points for React/React Native.
5. You have experience with Reactive Programming and streaming architectures.
6. You can demonstrate previous success designing and implementing models for efficiently storing and retrieving data.
7. You have experience designing, developing, and documenting GraphQL and RESTful APIs.
8. You have experience building highly scalable, distributed systems in a service-oriented architecture.
9. You have experience automating deployment procedures and building out scalable infrastructures on services such as AWS or Azure.

We believe in harmony in all aspects of life. To us that means that we're fully engaged when we're working and take the time to recharge when we need to. We try to maximize the value of synchronous time and leave plenty of heads-down time for the team to get things done. We know building a company is a marathon, but it's still a race we want to win as a team.

This is what our week currently looks like:

Monday: We kick off with a weekly meeting for everyone at 9am PST that opens up our Sprint process and gives the team a chance to check in and connect.

Tuesday & Wednesday: We have a 15 minute stand-up at 8:15a PST (we leave 30 minutes on everyone's calendar immediately after in case you want to discuss anything in more detail), then get after it – hit your team up on Slack or on Around to chat directly. Focus on your work and your goals for the week.

Thursday: Those who can, or want to, get together for standup at 7a PST (which means we're usually missing a few of the west coast US folks). We try to earmark a little time to talk about what will be in the Friday push to staging.

Friday: Heads down day, tie up any loose ends and send a final summary of the week via Slack. We push to staging on Fridays to prep for a release Monday. After that enjoy your weekend.
