The private equity community relies on us for guidance and expertise when navigating GP-led transactions (e.g., single- and multi-asset continuation vehicles, spin-outs & spin-ins, strip sales, NAV loans, tender offers and other transaction types). An Associate in GP-led secondaries will help lead in-depth analyses to support our pursuit of high-quality transactions, and in doing so, facilitate deal execution, potential client pitching, and investor management. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:Lead due diligence, research, analysis and documentation of potential and live transactions. Anticipate potential deal issues and pass concerns through to team members in real time.Lead extensive financial modeling to analyze GP-led transactions utilizing thoughtful due diligence and leveraging broad understanding of valuation and broad finance/accounting topics.Develop, produce and deliver proposals and presentations to clients and prospects, which exhibit broad knowledge of secondary market product solutions and underlying components.Engage with analysts in the development of marketing materials that highlight William Blair’s competitive advantages and overall product knowledge.Participate in growth of the team, facilitating analyst development, best practices and continued scaling of the overall PCA platform.Act as “on the job” mentor for analysts, providing constructive feedback. Focus on improving the quality of analyst and summer intern work product. Ensure senior team knows the valuable contributions of all team members.Additional responsibilities as requested.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree requiredPrior investment banking experience required (ideally, in a secondary advisory role)1+ years experience as an Investment Banking Associate strongly preferredDetail-oriented with strong analytical abilitiesDeep, sophisticated understanding of accounting and financeExcellent mathematical, writing, verbal and computer skillsAbility to adapt to new tasksAbility to manage expectations of senior bankers while working on multiple projects simultaneouslyEffective leadership and coaching skillsStrong desire to win and commitment to excellenceSound judgement and reasoning abilitiesSIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employmentTravel required: approximately 10% to 30%#LI-CG1A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at time of posting is below. Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits.
