Salary: $50-$60/hr+

Traveling CWI - Certified Weld Inspector

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Pay: $50-$60/hr + per diem

Requirements

• Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification strongly preferred.
• 3-5+ years of experience in welding inspection, quality control, or fabrication.
• Hands-on welding and/or welding supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of WPS, PQRs, welder qualifications, filler metals, and qualification testing.
• Experience with dimensional measurements and fit-up inspections for piping and components.
• Knowledge of welding processes including FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and SAW across carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, documentation, and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect weldments and completed fabrication to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.
• Perform visual, dimensional, and fit-up inspections of piping and components and recommend repairs when needed.
• Review WPS, PQR, welder qualification records, bend testing, drawings, and fabrication plans.
• Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain organized quality documentation and records.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and management to resolve welding and quality issues.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to welding personnel and less-experienced inspectors while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Support audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and other Quality team activities as assigned.
