Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a busy diagnostic imaging team in a high-acuity healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in MRI procedures, demonstrate excellent patient care skills, and be comfortable working with complex cases including patients with implanted medical devices. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology while supporting a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all imaging procedures.
• Screen patients thoroughly for MRI compatibility and implanted devices.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, infection control standards, and MRI best practices.
• Document procedures and patient information accurately within the electronic medical record system.
• Troubleshoot imaging equipment and report technical issues as needed.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as required.
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
• Current ARRT (MRI) certification or ARMRIT certification required.
• Advanced to intermediate MRI experience required.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and imaging protocols.
• Experience working with patients who have implanted medical devices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in Neuro Imaging.
• Experience in Body Imaging.
• Experience in MR Angiography.
• Experience in Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging.
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or high-volume acute care setting.
• Familiarity with neuro-oncology and neurosurgical imaging procedures.
Equipment Experience
• Experience operating Siemens Aera 1.5T MRI systems preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Strong attention to detail and image quality.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining patient safety.
