Affordable Housing Community Manager

Role Description The Community Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Maryville, TN, responsible for overseeing daily operations of an affordable housing community. This role manages resident relations, including addressing inquiries, coordinating move-ins and move-outs, and fostering a welcoming, respectful environment. The Community Manager oversees leasing activities, ensures compliance with affordable housing regulations, and maintains accurate records and reports. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating maintenance requests, supporting property upkeep, monitoring occupancy and revenue goals, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners. The position also involves organizing community events and initiatives that strengthen resident engagement and enhance the overall living experience. Qualifications Experience in property management, resident relations, and community engagement in a housing or real estate environment. Strong skills in communication, conflict resolution, and customer service to effectively interact with residents, staff, and stakeholders. Proficiency in administrative tasks, including recordkeeping, reporting, and use of property management software and basic office applications. Knowledge of affordable housing regulations, compliance requirements, and fair housing principles (or willingness to learn and be trained). Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team in an on-site setting. High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices in serving diverse communities. Prior experience in affordable housing or community-based organizations is required, relevant certifications or training are a plus.
