HPC & AI Firmware Lab Technician

This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office. Job Description Reads/interprets schematics, system diagrams, and specifications as needed to complete tests and set up lab equipment and servers for FW development. Performs updates when necessary. Ensures testing instruments are calibrated and verified on a regular basis. Accesses and manages inventory for R&D FW lab. Participates in debugging and troubleshooting of new and existing procedures, equipment, products, etc. Creates new test programs/procedures as needed for new technology. Responsibilities System Configuration Setup and breakdown server hardware. Install and maintain operating system. Manage server firmware and software applications. Apply security policy across lab infrastructure. Equipment maintenance and support. Manage prototype equipment deployment and maintenance. Inventory Management Shipping/Receiving. Storage. Input / Tracking. Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Unix Administration Experience with enterprise operating systems – Linux (RedHat, SLES), Windows Server, and VMWare. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. General computer system architecture – understanding hardware and software interactions. Ability to analyze and solve problems, work independently. Ability to work under date‑driven schedules. Experience with Aruba and ProCurve switch administration. Understanding of IPv4 DHCP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs. Experience troubleshooting network issues. Experience with HPE local risk environments. Run daily subnet scans and maintain an accurate database of active and inactive systems. Review weekly IT cybersecurity scans and work with team members to remediate issues. Respond to Global IT incidents and outages, troubleshoot, and resolve to minimize downtime. Successful Candidates Will Be Able To Communicate well verbally and in written form. Troubleshoot effectively. Support remote test execution and troubleshooting. Learn new tools and operating systems quickly. Manage interruptions and communicate impact and trade‑offs. Work well with peers and geographically distributed teams. Lift 50 pounds.
