About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Cardiac/Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Must have experience in PCU/Stepdown/Tele. - One successfully completed assignment is required. - Prefer experience with TAVR and CABG. - Travelers must have experience with common titratable and/or set rate drips. Description: The unit focuses on cardiac care with a patient capacity of 36 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 during the day and 1:5 at night. Patients may include those with CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, and post-surgical recovery. RNs are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, including BiPAP and high flow. RNs must be able to read tele strips as there is a dedicated monitor tech on the unit. Weekends require four weekend days per month. Holiday requirements include working three out of five holidays. Shifts are from 18:45 to 07:15. A charge nurse is available on each shift, typically without an assigned patient load. Patient care techs assist with the nurse-to-patient ratio. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Each nurse undergoes a brief orientation specific to the unit and clinical education.
