Job Summary As a School‑Based Behavioral Health Liaison (SBBHL), you will provide face‑to‑face consultation, training, and liaison services to school personnel and families to promote trauma‑informed, positive classroom and home environments. The role requires direct client contact, group facilitation, and collaboration with the local behavioral health system. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide face‑to‑face consultation with classroom teachers to create trauma‑informed classrooms and develop effective behavior responses. Deliver at least one training per year to LEA personnel on mental health and substance abuse prevention topics. Assist in the development of school‑wide mental health initiatives and universal prevention strategies. Serve as liaison between the school and families, facilitating IEP processes, alternative placements, and trauma‑informed support plans. Provide information and support for school personnel in navigating local behavioral health services, including crisis services. Maintain logs and tracking documents to document all services; these are reviewed during annual monitoring visits. Offer individual student consultations or interventions to build coping and de‑escalation skills, and conduct at least three psycho‑education group activities per year covering mental health disorders, substance use risk, and stress‑management strategies. Address specific mental health or behavioral issues through individual, group, or family therapy services as needed. Formulate diagnoses, create and update treatment plans according to policy, and maintain timely and accurate documentation, including progress notes and reports. Complete bi‑annual performance evaluations to meet compliance requirements. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in trauma‑informed practices. Ability to provide strength‑based, client‑centered care. Strong communication and organizational skills. Capacity to build positive relationships with school staff, students, and families. Qualifications Master’s degree required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a specialization in MH Counseling (license‑eligible preferred). Applicants with a Master’s in a related field must have completed at least 24 graduate‑level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling or other behavioral health coursework, and have relevant clinical treatment and assessment experience. Clinical experience required, which may be fulfilled through internships or practicums during the master’s program. Valid driver’s license and eligibility for the organization’s vehicle insurance policy. Years of experience in mental health clinical settings preferred. Salary Range Starting Salary Range: $42,300 – $46,700. Physical Requirements Standing – 10% Sitting – 90% Occasional squatting, kneeling, bending, driving, and lifting.
