Maintenance Manager

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is currently looking to hire a Maintenance Manager for our Gadsden, AL plant. In this role, the Maintenance Manager will supervise and coordinate the activities of workers engaged in setting-up, installing, repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment and fabricating metal parts and tools.At Meyer Utility Structures, we commit to and pride ourselves on providing reliable structures, superior service and product solutions. With over sixty years of transmission structural design and fabrication experience, Meyer can provide the structure that best fits your transmission, distribution, lattice, substation, or concrete project needs.What You’ll Do:Monitor and control Maintenance Department operating, staffing and maintenance costs within established budget and guidelinesPlan and manage the maintenance department work schedule to ensure there is effective support across all shifts in a 24/7 operation.Coordinate procedures, equipment maintenance priorities, repair and installation work on a regular basis in conjunction with Production Supervisors and Production ManagerAnalyze and estimate cost on various maintenance and repair projectsPrepare capital investment requests and justificationsEnsure all department objectives are in compliance with Arcosa’s policies and all safety, health and environmental government regulations are followedPrepare and conduct performance appraisals and evaluations for direct reports according to Company guidelinesInitiate requisitions of all shop supplies and repair partsCoordinate with Safety Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisors and Plant Manager on the implementation of safety procedures and ensure equipment safetyDevelop and maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program using the Upkeep reliability systemImplement and maintain necessary departmental procedures and records for efficient operations. Ensure record keeping accuracy of all logs for maintenance of cranes, mobile equipment and any other procedures or equipment records OSHA requiresAssist and direct workers in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machineryRecommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of productPerform root cause analysis and FMEA to reduce breakdown frequencyWhat You’ll Need:Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent maintenance experience desiredMinimum 7 years related work experience in manufacturing environmentMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situationsBasic computer skills requiredMust be able to prepare presentations for safety meetings, safety training and any other training beneficial to employees in achieving safety, and skills attainment goalsJob SummaryRequisition Number: MAINT014756Job Category: Manufacturing OpsSchedule: Full-Time
