LPPI champions nonpartisan, evidence-based domestic policy solutions that improve the economic, political, and social landscape for Latinos and other communities of color in states and localities across the U.S. LPPI leverages UCLA's cross-disciplinary strengths to create an enterprise-wide home for Latino social policy with expertise in over a dozen issue areas, including economic mobility, representation, health, environment, and Latino data infrastructure. LPPI fosters innovative research, leverages policy-relevant expertise, drives civic engagement, and nurtures a leadership pipeline to propel viable policy reforms that expand opportunity for all Americans.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Deputy Director, the Development Coordinator supports LPPI's fundraising and development activities by implementing components of the institute's development plan, coordinating grant and donor engagement activities, conducting prospect research, supporting proposal development, maintaining development data and reporting, and assisting with donor cultivation and stewardship. The incumbent collaborates with LPPI leadership, staff, and the UCLA Luskin School development team to support fundraising initiatives that advance LPPI's mission and long-term sustainability.This hybrid position requires candidates to be based in Southern California and available for in-person meetings and travel for conferences or organizational activities.Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Visit UC Benefit package to discover benefits that start on day one, and UC Total Compensation Estimator to calculate the total compensation value with benefits.QualificationsMinimum of three years of fundraising experience and/or prior professional experience in a related field strongly preferred.Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work harmoniously with the LPPI team, academic leaders, faculty, and other development staff toward the accomplishment of fundraising goals.Demonstrated skill and/or ability to work with a dean and/or senior faculty or equivalent leadership of a similar level and type at a comparable organization.Ability to establish priorities, manage multiple tasks and multi-phase projects simultaneously from inception to completion, and complete work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.Ability to communicate persuasively, both orally and in writing, about UCLA's fundraising goals and the specific priorities for Latino Policy and Politics Institute; equal ability to listen perceptively and convey sensitivity and awareness.Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce business correspondence, solicitation materials, appropriate letters of acknowledgment, proposals to individuals, corporations, and foundations, and reports.Impeccable integrity and discretion with donors, alumni, students, administrators, and colleagues, as well as confidential information.Ability to travel and work some weekends and/or evenings as needed.Candidate must submit cover letter and a resume to be considered.Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal AffiliationsBachelor's Degree in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development, or equivalent combination of experience and education.Special Conditions for EmploymentBackground Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.COVID and Flu Vaccinations: The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation.Schedule8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Union/Policy Covered99-Policy Covered
