Supply Chain Buyer

Job Purpose The Buyer is responsible for procuring inventory and managing all aspects of the inventory procurement process, including supplier relationship development, product pricing, and product date management critical to procurement. Responsibilities Collaborate with Demand Planners and Supply Planners to procure inventory and satisfy changing customer demand. Manage relationships with key suppliers to develop product and market knowledge. Source materials, process purchase orders for inventory goods, and maintain updated delivery schedules. Diagnose and resolve supplier invoicing and receiving issues to ensure invoices are paid timely. Create RFQ’s and analyze supplier responses for competitively bid products. Communicate with Sales and Operations regarding market conditions, pricing trends, and assist with product knowledge as required. Manager and maintain accurate product procurement data, such as supplier contract pricing, lead time information, unit weights, order multiples, etc. Assist in creation of part numbers for new product lines and inventory items. Other supply‑chain related duties as assigned. Education & Experience Possess an undergraduate degree in a related field or a high‑school diploma with 2–4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management preferred. Work experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud – Procurement and/or Supply Chain Planning modules is a plus. Skills & Abilities Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and intermediate‑level knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP). Ability to learn MRC Global‑specific software. Strong organization and time‑management skills. Establish internal and external business relationships using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills. Attention to detail, good decision‑making skills, and willingness to exercise them. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment, may require prolonged periods of sitting/standing, and availability to work beyond core business hours, including evenings and/or weekends, as necessary to meet fluctuating business demands.
