About the Position

Job Title: Critical Care Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS & BLS (must be from the American Heart Association) Must-Have: Must have active RN license and current life support certifications attached to the resume Description: Critical care registered nurses are skilled in providing care for patients with life-threatening conditions. They assess patients' conditions and develop care plans. They treat wounds and provide advanced life support. They assist physicians in performing various procedures. They observe and record patient vital signs accurately. They ensure that medical equipment functions properly and make adjustments as needed. They administer intravenous fluids and medications. They perform suctioning as required. They collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals in critical care settings. They respond to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols. They act as patient advocates throughout the care process. They provide education and support to patients and their families. Critical care nurses may also care for pre- and post-operative patients. Some may take on roles as case managers or in administrative capacities.
