UPMC is Offering a generous Sign-on Bonus of up to $15,000 for those who qualify!

Applicants will be placed into the appropriate job title and salary based on their individual experience and education. The Medical Lab Technician’s salary starts at $23.44/hour. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely specimen collection, processing, and analysis, including phlebotomy as needed.

• Conduct moderate complexity testing independently, and high complexity testing under supervision.

• Recognize and respond to critical or abnormal results, instrument issues, and other lab concerns following established protocols.

• Ensure precise data entry and maintain specimen integrity throughout the testing process.

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment; perform quality control and routine maintenance.

• Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and lab team members.

• Follow all safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards.

• Support training and onboarding of new team members and students.
