Desktop Technician

Location: Groton/New London, CT (Onsite)
Payrate: $25/Hr
Work Schedule: Split Shift — 20 hours during the week and 20 hours on weekends

Job Responsibilities

• Set up computers and perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Provide support for desktops, laptops, servers, software, hardware, and networks.
• Install, maintain, and repair PCs, laptops, servers, printers, peripherals, and network devices.
• Perform disk replacements on enterprise storage systems.
• Support and maintain legacy computer products and server systems.
• Perform installations, moves, adds, and changes as needed.
• Test and certify PCs, networks, servers, and approved applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or escalate them when necessary.
• Reload and re-image PCs and laptops.
• Install, configure, and optimize hardware, software, and networking products.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure customer issues are resolved to their satisfaction.
• Follow client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and keep service tickets updated.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of desktop or computer support experience.
• Basic hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, or servers.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong work ethic and professional communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow standard procedures.
• Ability to work onsite and support customers professionally.

Position Overview

As a Desktop Technician , you will provide onsite technical support for computers and related systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain desktops, laptops, servers, printers, networking equipment, and standard software.

You will receive assignments through the Help Desk or Service Desk and use established procedures and tools to resolve technical issues. More complex problems may require you to use your technical knowledge to diagnose and repair hardware, software, and networking issues.
