You will carry your own caseload of complex and/or high exposure claims while providing day to day guidance and oversight to a small claims team. Operating within our PEO environment, you will serve as the first point of contact for escalations for the claims team, be a trusted resource for customer facing claim inquiries and a key contributor to process improvement initiatives.We’re helping businesses get off the ground by enabling them to focus on running their business. If you’d like to work in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment, are interested in building something meaningful and having fun while doing it, we’d love to hear from you.Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work OnSupervise and support a small claims team providing daily direction, workload oversight and performance coaching.Manage your own active caseload of complex, litigated, and high-severity claims from First Notice of Loss through closure.Review coverage decisions, reserves and settlement recommendations to ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment with company guidelines.Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult claims, coverage disputes, or customer concerns that exceed team members authority levels.Conduct regular file audits and quality reviews, delivering constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.Coordinate with TPAs, carriers, defense counsel, medical providers, and nurse case managers to drive timely, cost-effective claim resolutions.Onboard and train new claims staff, ensuring familiarity with PEO workflows, customer structures, and state-specific compliance requirements.Maintain current knowledge of WC statutes, filing requirements, and best practices across all jurisdictions in the company's footprint.Assist the Claims Director with reporting, loss trend analysis, and identifying process improvement opportunities.Perform other related duties as assignedHow You Will Do Your WorkAs a Senior Claims Manager, Workers Compensation, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately result in our success as an organization. Simplicity - Be like Einstein: “Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.” Qualifications7+ years of experience in a Third Party Claims Administration(TPA) or PEO experience in claims.Some experience mentoring, training or informally leading peers or junior claims associatesWorking knowledge of WC regulations in multiple states, ability to navigate jurisdictional differences confidentlySolid reserving skills and understanding of indemnity, medical and expense components of claim financials.Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable interacting directly with PEO customers and external partners.Proficiency with claims management systems an/or RMIS platformsExperience supporting Return to Work programs and managed care coordinationExperience working cross-functionallyExperience with vendor managementExtremely detailed-oriented with great time management and organizational skillsProactive and curious with a bias for actionThe base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $131,000.00 to $169,000.00 per year.#LI-Hybrid #LI-CD1Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
