Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Financial Reporting and Control team in Birchwood. This role offers an opportunity to build your accounting career in a collaborative environment, gaining experience across financial reporting, treasury, and cash flow. Responsibilities Support accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and treasury activities across UK and Irish entities. Support VAT returns, statutory reporting, and audit activities. Assist with payments, bank reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and support month‑end processes. Support fixed asset accounting and financial controls. Contribute to reporting, system improvements, and ad‑hoc analysis. Qualifications Experience in a finance or accounting role (e.g., Assistant Accountant, AP/AR, Treasury). Exposure to month‑end or financial processes. Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. Good Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups). Strong communication and stakeholder engagement. Willingness to learn and develop accounting expertise. Desirable Experience with SAP, treasury, or cash flow. Progress towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
