ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This position involves working within an Intensive Care Unit with the capability to float to Medical Surgical Telemetry and Emergency Department holds.

Job Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 Years
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holidays: Based on unit coverage

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 5 Beds
• Patient Ratios: 1 to 2 for ICU patients; 1 to 3 for MedSurg patients
• EMR System: Cerner
• Nurse Aides: 1 tech per shift (shared with MedSurg unit)
• Shift Overview: 12-hour shifts (Day: 7a-7p, Night: 7p-7a)

Role Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients. Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and interpreting patient vitals and EKGs.
• Administering medications, including vasoactive drips.
• Performing essential nursing skills, such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Participating in patient education and promoting health management.
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
• Floating to Medical/Surgical Telemetry as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Proficient with general medical and surgical ICU skills.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude and strong teamwork.
• Capability to function independently in high-stress situations.
• Ability to maintain sterile techniques and uphold all hospital policies.

Additional Information

This position requires strong nursing skills and the ability to adapt to various patient levels of care. The nurse will also be involved in educational activities related to patient care protocols. A clean appearance, including natural hair color and no facial piercings, is required.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, floating as required, and should be prepared for both ICU and Medical/Surgical duties. This unit values a collaborative approach, where every team member contributes to patient care and the overall performance of the unit.
