Registered Nurse (RN) – Ambulatory Care Unit Requisition Number: 268779 Work Arrangement: Regular Location: Durham, NC 27710 Date: May 16, 2026 Clinical Nurse II – Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) seeks to hire a Clinical Nurse II (Registered Nurse) who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together. Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to achieve department goals. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care guided by the DUHS Professional Practice model, participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects or other health‑related projects as assigned. Provide nursing services in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and all applicable regulations. Maintain exemplary customer service and respectful relationships. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Supervise indirect nursing support staff. Participate in clinical ladder, educational activities, and departmental committees. Engage in research or other health‑related projects as assigned. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and families. Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required 1+ years of clinical nursing experience; 1 year required for CN2 role. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree or nursing diploma accepted. Registered nurses without a BSN must enroll within two years and complete the program within five years. Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or compact RN license. Professional specialty certification preferred.
