Data Center Deployment Lead - GPU & HPC

We are seeking a Data Center Deployment Lead to serve as a senior on-site technical authority and the right hand to the Director of Data Center Deployments. In this highly technical, individual contributor role, you won't just execute deployments; you’ll help orchestrate them. Acting as a vital bridge between planning and on-site execution, you will sit at the intersection of Sales Engineering, Operations, and Engineering to ensure every plan is physically viable in the data center. You'll translate requirements discovery with Sales Engineering, sync with Operations on execution milestones, and collaborate with Engineering to proactively close gaps, paving the way for successful deployments. Once the strategy is set, you will coordinate the physical deployment of devices, cabling, cooling, power, and the high‑level configuration of next‑generation AI and HPC clusters. Expect to spend roughly 10% of your time hands‑on in the field, rolling up your sleeves to directly assist technicians with advanced troubleshooting and navigating complex roadblocks. Whether driving clusters from unboxing to live production or meticulously documenting infrastructure into Netbox, you will ensure nothing falls through the cracks. To support our expanding footprint of data centers, you can expect to travel 30‑40% of the time. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Datacenter Deployments by working with Sales Engineering, Operations and Engineering to plan cluster deployments. Assist the Director by leading the prep, installation, bring‑up, validation, and production readiness of our HPC GPU clusters. Provide technical leadership and guidance to on‑site engineers and technicians. Assist Deployment Techs to resolve advanced hardware, firmware, OS, and networking issues. Coordinate on‑site hardware repairs, part replacements, and vendor escalations. Document datacenter and cluster architecture and configurations. Document deployment processes, standards, and operational runbooks. Requirements 5+ years deploying high‑density data center infrastructure. You must have personally racked, cabled, and commissioned GPU systems! Direct experience with high‑speed fabrics in a production environment. Experience with Netbox and MaaS. Experience with high‑density power and cooling environments. Linux troubleshooting skills with the ability to run diagnostics and use basic scripting to establish hardware health. 30‑40% travel, with flexibility and willingness to be on a plane with short notice to support bring‑up phases. Proven leadership and communication under fire; ability to anchor teams, maintain logical decision‑making, and deliver clear directives during critical system outages and tight deployment schedules. Salary Range The base salary range for the Data Center Deployment Lead is $145,000 to $165,000 USD. This pay range reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay range for this job for the location for which it has been posted. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
