Registered Nurse (RN)

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for one of our clients in DeLand, FL .

Job Description:

• Since Florida is a compact state, do you accept nursing/CNA licenses from other compact states? Yes, for RNs.
• If a candidate is already in the Clearinghouse, will DOH require additional background screening? No
• Will a level 1 vendor run background meet your requirements? Yes
• Does DOH require any type of interviews? No
• Does DOH require any other credentialing aside from the suppliers' verifying licenses in NURSYS and CRT licenses in DOH MQA ? No, but licenses numbers will need to be provided when we are notified which medical staff is coming
• Who will be training the contract staff? DOH staff
• Will contract staff have any bedding accommodations at the shelter? No, they need to bring their own cot/mattress/bedding nothing larger than a twin.

• Will be sleeping in a room assigned for all staff by the school. Showers are not guaranteed.
• Will DOH provide PPE such as gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, etc.? Yes, although obviously if an individual has a specific preference or is accustomed to a specific respirator, they are welcome to bring their own.
• Will DOH provide meals or water at the shelters for contract staff? Yes, the food is school cafeteria dining, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Workers should bring additional non-perishable food and/or snacks including dietary restrictions. Cafeteria meals will only be served during day shift hours.
• Contractors must bring their IDs. They will be scanned in rapid to verify they are allowed on school property.
• How does deployment work? DOH would normally inform CAI at least 24 hours ahead of the date and staff would be deployed for a few days and also have a group to relief the initial group after 72 hours. The deployment may or may not be 72 hours; that's a conservative estimate given evacuation lead times prior to storm landfall. Shifts once deployed are 12 hours on, 12 hours off. The off hours are on-site with continued pay; if the contractor chooses to go to a hotel or makes other off-site arrangements, it will not be paid.

Keep in mind, if there are no hurricanes or emergencies, these shelters won't need to open. DOH just wants us to be prepared if needed.
