Direct Support Professional Part Time

Description Starting Pay: $16 - $18.50 per hour, DOE (Full pay scale is $16-$22) Work Schedule: Monday 9am-2pm, Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-2:30pm, Friday 9am-2pm (28hrs per week) Location: Milton-Freewater, OR (in-person) Description: Horizon Project is a non-profit that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support adults with IDD in Day Support and Job Coaching. As a DSP, you'll provide direct care to clients, help them with personal goals, plan and lead group activities, and track progress on the computer. Our goal is to make sure our clients are safe, healthy, and fulfilled. Job Duties include, but are not limited to: Give clients their medications Track basic health parameters (water intake, blood glucose, bowel movements) Help clients with personal hygiene and going to the bathroom (male & female clients) Prepare food and follow unique dietary restrictions Assist with tracking client financials and available spending money Use a computer to complete daily documentation and tracking Go with the clients on community outings (museum, library, county fair) Plan and execute group activities (games, crafts, holiday celebrations) Actively engage with clients during activities and outings Work with a team to ensure client health and safety Safely operate a company vehicle to transport clients Benefits Paid sick time company vehicle for client transportation OregonSaves Retirement Account ROTH IRA (no company match) Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS Must pass a pre-employment drug test Must have a valid driver's license with an insurable driving record (for client transportation in company vehicle) Must be able to remain calm in a chaotic environment Horizon Project is an Equal Opportunity Employer Starting Pay: $16 - $18.50 per hour, DOE (Full pay scale is $16-$22) #J-18808-Ljbffr Horizon Project, Inc
