Latin Teacher 4th-7th grade

Veritas Classical School, St. Augustine, Florida, is seeking to hire: Long-Term Latin Substitute Teacher (Grades 4–7) Dates: January 2026 – April 2026 Veritas Classical School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher to teach Latin to students in grades 4 through 7 during the second semester of the 2025–26 school year. This position will cover a planned maternity leave and requires a candidate who can maintain continuity in instruction and classroom culture. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Latin instruction following the established curriculum and lesson plans Maintain a respectful, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment Assign and assess classwork and homework as outlined in the curriculum Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student learning Serve as a Christian role model in conduct and character, both in and out of the classroom Qualifications: Must be a professing Christian Bachelor’s degree preferred (college students with relevant experience will be considered) Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification Familiarity with classical education and Latin instruction is a plus To Apply: Please send your resume and cover letter to View email address on click.appcast.io to be considered. Responsibilities include: Follow regular teacher’s lesson plans in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and lunch Depending on needs, may be assigned to non-substitute teaching duties, such as proctoring, aiding, and other functions to help Veritas operate optimally.
