The Certified Electrician 3 has experience and interest in emerging solar technology and a passion for installing this new technology on our customers homes. This position will work with PV and battery installation crews to oversee the end-to-end installation of solar batteries. The Certified Electrician 3 also performs and trains others on a variety of electrical work including main panel upgrades, electrical troubleshooting and service work.ResponsibilitiesSafely lead solar battery installations including design review, pre-installation planning and site walk evaluations, ensuring material is properly stocked and the appropriate electrical equipment is installed to local and NEC codeResponsible for the successful installation of residential solar projects including the installation of the electrical systems that interconnect the solar array to the grid power of customer’s residential propertyWork with branch team and home owners to fulfill any necessary system repairs to support solar equipment installationMentor others to enhance their overall electrical skillsTrain on Sunrun established best practices as well as prepare team members for future positions at SunrunWork cross-functionally with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members to serve as a subject matter expert on electrical and battery workSolve for recurring quality issues and failed inspections to increase the installation pass rateWhen assigned, safely plan and complete main panel upgrades, electrical troubleshooting and service workOther duties as assigned10 - 30% travel as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of electrical installation and repair experience and at least 1 year of experience installing home backup productsMust have working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panelsMust possess and maintain valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirementsMust maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check and drive company vehiclesMust be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s licenseDemonstrated experience mentoring ElectriciansSafety and customer focusPhysical DemandsAbility to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balanceAbility to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouchingAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidityAbility to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinchingAbility to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipmentAbility to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shieldsAbility to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of heightAbility to work in the sun and possibly low light conditionsAbility to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damageAbility to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, greenAbility to hear verbal commands and warningsAbility to work with chemicals using appropriate protectionRecruiter:Reva Tambo (View email address on click.appcast.io)Please note that the compensation information is made in good faith for this position only.
