Driver Position

The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington is one of the largest charities in the DC area. The Y serves as an anchor in the community offering programs and services encompassing youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The YMCA is currently seeking a dedicated and responsible driver to transport children to and from school as part of our Before and After School program. The ideal candidate will prioritize the safety and well-being of the children in their care at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport children to and from school according to assigned schedules
• Ensure all passengers are properly seated and wearing seatbelts
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and YMCA staff as needed
• Adhere to all traffic laws and YMCA policies and procedures
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Experience working with children preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
• Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening

Schedule:

• Part-time position, Monday-Friday mornings and afternoons
• Additional hours may be available for field trips and special events
