Software Test Engineer

Software Test Engineer Location: Indianapolis, Indiana (on-site). Reports to Lead Software Test Engineer within the R&D Software team. In This Role Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability. Contribute to and enhance automated test scripts and test frameworks to improve test coverage and efficiency. Collaborate closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and clarify expected behaviors, ensuring high quality releases. Investigate, document, and communicate defects, working with engineering to drive timely resolution and prevent recurrence. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including refining test processes, improving tooling, and identifying opportunities to elevate product quality. Essential Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing, including manual and automated testing practices. Experience designing and executing test cases, documenting defects, and validating fixes across the software development lifecycle. Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks such as pytest, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar. Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with software engineers and product owners.
