Description:

Working under the guidance of experienced Project Managers and operational leaders, this position assists with project coordination, customer communication, scheduling, documentation, and order follow-up.

The Assistant Project Manager works closely with customers, Sales, Order Entry, Estimating, Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to help ensure materials are accurate, available, and delivered according to project requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in developing a career in project management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing assigned customer projects from order entry through project completion.
  • Maintain project information, schedules, customer requirements, and documentation within the JIM.
  • Support communication with customers, contractors, builders, and internal departments.
  • Review project requirements and identify missing information, material concerns, or scheduling risks.
  • Coordinate with Order Entry, Estimating, Production, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to support project schedules.
  • Monitor open orders, production status, material availability, and upcoming delivery requirements.
  • Follow up on assigned action items and communicate status updates to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries based on customer and jobsite requirements.
  • Provide customers with timely updates regarding order status, deliveries, changes, and potential delays.
  • Maintain accurate project records, notes, and required paperwork.
  • Assist with resolving order discrepancies, material issues, delivery challenges, and customer concerns.
  • Escalate significant project risks, customer concerns, and schedule conflicts to the appropriate Project Manager or manager.
  • Access and maintain customer portals as required.
  • Participate in project reviews, customer meetings, and cross-functional planning discussions.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Support senior Project Managers with reporting, project follow-up, and special assignments.

Key Measures of Success

  • Accurate and timely project documentation.
  • Consistent follow-up on open orders and assigned action items.
  • Proactive communication of project risks and schedule changes.
  • Reliable coordination between customers and internal departments.
  • Continued development toward independently managing a larger project portfolio.
  • Positive customer and internal team relationships.

Growth Opportunity

This position is designed as a developmental path toward a Project Manager role. As the Junior Project Manager demonstrates knowledge of company processes, customer requirements, project coordination, and independent decision-making, they may be assigned increasingly complex customers and projects.

  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
