Production Operator

Location: Detroit, MI Shift: 3rd Shift Pay: $18.00/hr

Job Summary

Workbox Staffing is hiring Production Operators in Detroit, MI for a metal processing facility. This role involves entry-level machine operation, loading and unloading materials, monitoring production output, and ensuring products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate has forklift experience, manufacturing experience, and is looking for a long-term opportunity in an industrial environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Production Operator, your core responsibilities will include:

Machine Operation: Operate production equipment according to work instructions and production standards.
Material Handling: Load materials into the production area using a forklift and unload finished materials to shipping or storage areas.
Production Monitoring: Check and inspect operation results against predetermined tolerances to ensure quality standards are met.
Instruction Compliance: Scan products to access specific production instructions and follow process requirements.
Quality Support: Transport products to the quality department for inspection and defect review.

Additional duties may include supporting team projects and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

Forklift experience is required
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Stable work history and longevity preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Experience working in an industrial environment is a plus

Skills & Physical Requirements:

Basic computer skills for scanning and accessing work instructions
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Work Environment & Dress Code

Environment: Industrial metal processing facility; fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing setting
Dress Code: Steel toe boots required; work-appropriate manufacturing attire
