Finance Clerk - Harrison County Campus

This position serves as a cashier and customer service representative for Business Services on the Harrison County Campus.

Job duties include collecting student fees via a computer terminal, balancing session work and making daily deposits for college accounts. You will also accept calls professionally and courteously while providing assistance to callers, within school regulations and processing credit card payments via phone in an effective manner. Other duties include posting miscellaneous charges and payments, maintaining campus key inventory and key issuance, appropriately disbursing checks received, assisting other business office finance clerks, performing clerical duties, upgrading skill level and performance, becoming familiar with and ensuring adherence to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and MGCCC policies and procedures, and performing all other duties as assigned by appropriate personnel.

Mandatory qualifications include a minimum of an associate's degree in a business related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning, two years of office experience, experience in the operation of personal computers with proficiency in Internet, Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, & Excel, effective organizational and communication skills, and experience in handling money and making deposits.

Desirable qualifications include a bachelor's degree, experience using SCT Banner software & other electronic data systems, experience in a multi-task environment, and prior experience working in a community college.
