CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant, Hospice Inpatient Care

Overview: Join a compassionate team providing essential basic patient care in a hospice inpatient setting within a regional healthcare network in the Southeastern United States. This full-time, day-shift role supports patients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to unit routines and care equipment.
Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or communicating requirements to appropriate staff.
Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
Manage and stock patient care supplies, ensuring a clean and well-organized environment.
Participate in cost containment efforts and accurate patient service charging.
Engage in ongoing educational and performance improvement activities.
Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.

Education and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience and Skills:

No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Basic computer literacy.
Flexibility with work tasks and schedules.
Understanding of age-specific patient care considerations.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work variable shifts with significant standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Capability to turn and lift patients safely.
Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
Exposure to blood and body fluids with adherence to safety protocols.
